GEOLOGY

Sawtooth Formation: The Middle Jurassic Sawtooth Formation is the basal member of the Ellis Group and rests uncomformably upon the Mississippian Madison Group. The Rierdon shales conformably overlie and provide a seal for the Sawtooth reservoirs. The Sawtooth reservoirs are sheet sands comprised of clean quartzose sandstones deposited in a shallow marine environment. Traps are created when the Sawtooth sandstone bodies are draped over underlying erosional features on the Paleozoic surface. Based on geologic mapping, there is potential for step-out locations on the Company’s land to extend the existing pools.
