GEOLOGY

Belly River Formation: In Drumheller area, the Belly River reservoir has a gross thickness of ~8m with porosities up to 30%. There are currently four producing Belly River wells on Company Lands with future infill potential.

Viking Formation: The Viking Formation of the Colorado Group is encased between the overlying Colorado shale and the underlying Joli Fou shale. In Central Alberta, the Viking was deposited as eastern prograding shelf barrier sands. Gross thickness of the Viking on Company Lands is 40-45m with porosities up to 20%.

In this area, the Viking sands have lower permeability making them a good target for horizontal drilling . The recent 02/13-11-030-21W4 horizontal Viking well, drilled in July 2010, had a first month initial production rate of 1.2 MMcf/d. Potential has been identified to drill additional horizontal Viking wells in this area, based on these results.
