NISKU (D-2) RE-ENTRY/CONVERSIONS/STIMULATIONS
The Company has initiated a program of converting suspended or abandoned D-3 wellbores to Nisku producers. Two wells, located at 07-15 and 06-17-050-26W4, were recently completed and stimulated. The wells were suspended in the Leduc zone in 2009 and 2007, respectively. Both wells showed strong oil swab results from the Nisku after completion; 07-15 is currently on pump with early rates of ~50 bbl/d. An additional nine high graded Leduc to Nisku conversion opportunities have been identified within the Company’s inventory of existing wellbores; eight have been assigned Proved Developed Non-Producing reserves by Sproule.
In addition to the conversions, the Company has also identified fracture stimulation candidates on abandoned or suspended historical Nisku producers based on a successful program carried out by Imperial Oil from 1986 to 1988. The majority of Nisku wells completed prior to the 1980's used an acid wash only. The application of sand fracs, as shown on the chart, yielded significant incremental oil rates and reserves. Six Nisku locations exhibiting lower than expected recoveries will be recompleted using modern fracture stimulations to improve overall recoveries. Four of these locations have been assigned Proved Developed Non-Producing reserves by Sproule.
Initial Sproule forecasted oil rates for the Nisku stimulation program range from 11 to 56 bbl/d, with a range of reserves from 24 to 171 Mboe.
